What did you think? Marriage is nirvana, full of flowers, bonbons, love and passion? No way. Today’s the 20th anniversary of the release of Nevermind – the best album ever! Long live Nirvana. And I guess marriage. And I guess I’ll thrown in babies since they apply to both.

As one of our friends mentioned, it’s too bad The Donkey is so short, because–including Daddy–we will now have our own little basketball team.  And I will go from being outnumbered to being completely overwhelmed and possibly going insane.

That’s right–for those of you who didn’t already catch it on our Twitter Feed, we are having boy #4.

I always said that I didn’t mind whether we had a boy or a girl, and I wasn’t just being diplomatic.  I tried and tried to figure out which I preferred, but I came up with pros and cons on either side, and it was all pretty balanced.  I would have been excited either way, but now that I know it’s a boy, I’m excited AND relaxed–the clothes are all ready, I’ve had lots of practice with boys, I know (somewhat) what to expect, etc.

So, the official baby-naming debates and discussions have begun.  It will be a while before I make my decision–right now I am just in the name-gathering phase.  So , I need your help.  Help me make a good list of names by listing 3-5 of your favorite boy names in the comments.

The Donkey and The Wife have now joined the world of Twittering.  For those of you who don’t know, Twitter is a service that allows you to publish mini-updates that people can access in a variety of ways (text, IM, web).  We are publishing our Twitter feed right here in the sidebar, but you can also go directly to our WifeAdvice.com Twitter profile to see our twitter archives and sign up to “follow” us.  Of course this won’t replace our posts, it will just be another way for us to paint an accurate picture of what life is like for a donkey and his wife.  (For more info about Twitter, including a great video and details on starting your own Twitter feed, visit Twitter.)

Two weeks ago I discovered she was pregnant and asked her not to tell anyone until she went to the doctor to confirm the pregnancy. (I only buy the pregnancy tests from the Dollar Store, so I question the validity of those things). She agreed, but several days ago she confided in my brother for some reason. I was a little disappointed, and we had a “discussion” about this.

For these two reasons, I have decided to announce her pregnancy on our site. Plus it will give us plenty of topics to post about since pregnancies are always an interesting time at our house.

She is only a couple months along, so we won’t know the sex of the baby for a while. I will try and persuade her to let our faithful readers choose the name of the baby. Perhaps we can give away a prize for the winning submission.

You should also know that she has no idea this post is coming. I am at work typing this up right now. I expect a call any minute from her – but it’s drama that makes this site good, right? A good journalist has to publish the controversial. Hail to the blog!

The Donkey and The Wife on the News
For those in the Salt Lake City area, you may be interested to see an interview with us (about this site) which will air this Sunday on KUTV-2. We’ve been told that the story will be shown on the 5 pm or 10 pm news. Our Tivo is already set to capture it all; we may be able to post the story here at some point–but that all kind of depends on how many pounds the camera adds to The Wife’s our looks.
