Can A Wife Sport A Muumuu At Home?
Dressed to kill
One of my favorite Simpsons episodes is when Homer gains a bunch of weight so he can claim a disability and work from home. He ends up wearing a disgusting muumuu because he can’t fit into any of his clothes.
Now, I’m sure most of us would agree that a muumuu outside of the house is probably not the best choice here in the United States, but what about at home? Do you think a wife should wear a muumuu at home on a regular basis? I’m not talking about wearing a muumuu once in a while. I’m talking about utilizing it as an everyday piece of garb. My friend and his wife were debating this and I’m not sure which side to take. Leave a comment and let me know what you think. That includes you lurkers too!
The picture below depicts Homer wearing a standard muumuu.

Absolutely not! You should want to look nice for your spouse. Wearing a muumuu is a definite no-no!

there is no more appealing garment than a muumuu. it is comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, and super sexy. think about it everytime you see a muumuu you must think of the tropics and the relaxing sun and beach and it’s is crazy sexy because in one smooth motion it is off!!!

I think what’s under the muumuu is more important. Is she using it to hide weight gain (pregnancy excluded)? If she is taking care of herself, then she can wear what she wants around the house.

Does the husband want his wife to wear the muumuu? Or does he not want her to wear it? Does he have to wear a matching flowered shirt when she wears the muumuu? Not enough information here!

If she wants to wear one during the day, that’s her call. I’d just as soon have her change before I get home, though.
By the way, great pic of Homer. The best part of that episode is when he tries to all 911 and gets a message saying “The fingers you have used to dial are too fat. To obtain a special dialing wand, please mash the keypad with your palm now”

I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing this, especially when my man came home. A wife should get up and get dressed before her husband goes to work..he’ll appreciate it more than thinking you are laying around in a muumuu all day getting fat.

There is never an excuse to wear a muumuu

if she have the same problem as homer have -> to fat for standard clothes..she has to take a decision: like she to be looking good – or love she food, snakes etc more… if she should choose the food… wear a muumuu, its very comfortable but there are just hawaiian styles available. If she choose looking good… she need to eat healty, make some sportes and she can wear what ever she want. if her husband is getting turned on by muumuus… no problem she can ware it at all… but better just in freetime, it isn’t a businessdress, if she not work in a beachbar ose… best wishes from europe

Are the coments above, from Clueless Newlywed, Andy and Jessica for real? And from the year 2010? Hard to believe! I’m 65, and not even my parents generation would have expressed those statements regarding what a wife’ role is in a mariage. Yes I live in Europe.

Well, if someone would like to wear a muumuu, thats their choise – but noone should tell ME what to wear, or not to wear – if my “husband” tells me NOT to wear a muumuu – if I wanted to myself – I would like to smack him so hard…
Noone should tell another person what they should wear – or not…
But then again – my hubby did dress himself in a hideous dark-pink t-shirt – and he looked so weird, the colour was totally wrong for him, and I said so… he looks much better in red, and pale blue…
he is colour-blind by the way… always ask me what colour this and that is…
And yeah – Jessica – if you are a housewife – you do your job at home in your own pace – but of course he will appreciate it – some men are really lazy and appreciate when you do it all for them at home…
And yeah – I’m Swedish… equality has hit hard here – women demands it here… dunno why you americans still like women to be at home… it’s so 1800′s…

My wife has always said she would like a muumuu just to wear around the house. My opinion is, who cares if someone wants to wear a muumuu. They are not just for people who are overweight. Why not where loose comfortable clothing if you want to. If your spouse doesn’t like it, buy one for him to wear!

My mom is disabled and has a disorder that causes her to swell, due to this, the muu muu is the most comfortable piece of clothing she can find. The material is perfect. If women think they need to get all dressed up to please their men WHAT YEAR DO YOU LIVE IN? And just because you wear a muu muu doesn’t mean you are fat. Anyway, it is all up to the one wearing it and if anyone else does not like it, they don’t have to look.
