Wife Advice Finally Back

From The Donkey

We’ve been receiving a lot of messages asking where we are and why we aren’t writing anymore. Don’t worry, we are alive. Things have been crazy since having the baby 2 and a half months early. He is still in the hospital and will be for several more weeks since he is having trouble breathing and eating.

My wife has been visiting him twice a day while he’s been in there. This has had a chain reaction on the rest of the family and our duties. You will be happy to know that I have been doing my part to sustain what matters the most: the blog.

I have about 15 posts ready to put up, but the ‘process’ won’t allow that. My wife has to screen everything that is written to ensure that nothing too crazy sneaks by. I have been pressuring her to review these posts so we can get something up, but she just can’t get to it right now. I’m not sure why since she is just sitting in the hospital sleeping in a chair with the baby on her chest??  Just a few days ago, however, she has approved me to put up posts without going through the full review process. The only downside is that you will no longer be reading stuff that has been edited by a person who got a perfect score on the English sections of the ACTs. But you will continue to read about the stupid things I do, experience the conversations we have, vote on our latest debates, find answers to readers’ questions, and read a new segment I have decided to publish – From The Farm. I found my wife’s journals from when she was a kid on the farm. Stalwart readers will remember this classic debate. I plan on posting excerpts from this journal for your enjoyment.

We look forward to entertaining you once again and would be happy to accept any feedback you have for our site. If you’re lucky, I might even pull a few posts out of the Banned Files.

  3. Allow me to explain a little more about the “process” that is preventing The Donkey’s posts from being posted: He writes something really quick, emails it to me, then tells me to fix all the mistakes, expand on the topic a bit, find a good picture for it (which of course has to be edited and resized), upload everything to the site, and publish it. He is (somewhat) capable of doing most of these things himself, but he has perfected the art of “learned incompetence,” which apparently he can sustain for a full two months, before breaking down and doing something himself. :)
