This is funny but so true and early marriage... I married thinking my wife will have a yummy meal for me everytime at home as soon as get back from work.... yeah right!
But I think is just fair to expect a wife to cook for us if we spend the whole day working outside of the house and she is a stay home mom/wife. I am not saying that staying at home means not working because I know it is a lot of owrk, but if the wife does not work outside the house then to cook my food is part of her home job descrption and I have to say that even though it took me a few years, (8 years beibg married now) to teach my wife to cook, now she is a great cook now!
And the best of everything is that she do it with love and in appreciation of everything I provide for her and my kids, so I guess is about understanding our roles, I have to do my best and whatver is in my power to provide for her and the kids and she does the same from home. Now there has been sometimes when the roles switch due to illness, moving to a new state and not finding a job for me inmediately so she had to work, etc...

OMG... too funny! You sure know how to get in trouble don't you! I agree with Mityma. Both your Mom's should be ashamed for not teaching you how to cook! LOL

Maybe your mom should feel like a fool for not teaching you how to bake a potato or boil water.

Why ask your mom such questions when you have the internet to help you?! Andy found this great site today and I learned a few tips, too!

http://www.howtobakeapotato.com/

Now if we could only find a website that was something like: www.howtocleanupbarffromthelawn.com.
Or:
www.howtocookasteakwithoutlightingtheentiregrillonfire.com

Now that would be helpful!

how long it takes to boil water, how pink chicken can be, can I cut the mold off of cheese, do grapes really need to be washed, and does syrup have to be in the refrigerator.

I'm a mom, so I will answer your questions! It depends on how much and how hot it is to start, not very but it's better to use a meat thermometer than to rely on color, yes, yes, and no.

Also, you can't back a potato in the microwave, though my husband thinks you can. You can steam it in the microwave, though, and that's almost as good, and a lot faster.

And you gave good advice in this post. Never, ever, ever, ever make your wife look weak in the face of her mother-in-law. Not if you enjoy either sex or harmony in the home.

Has it really taken you this long to figure this one out? I think this should be ascribed a more prominent number than 25 due to its importance!
