It’s a Boy, and He Needs a Name!
Our Own Basketball Team
As one of our friends mentioned, it’s too bad The Donkey is so short, because–including Daddy–we will now have our own little basketball team. And I will go from being outnumbered to being completely overwhelmed and possibly going insane.
That’s right–for those of you who didn’t already catch it on our Twitter Feed, we are having boy #4.
I always said that I didn’t mind whether we had a boy or a girl, and I wasn’t just being diplomatic. I tried and tried to figure out which I preferred, but I came up with pros and cons on either side, and it was all pretty balanced. I would have been excited either way, but now that I know it’s a boy, I’m excited AND relaxed–the clothes are all ready, I’ve had lots of practice with boys, I know (somewhat) what to expect, etc.
So, the official baby-naming debates and discussions have begun. It will be a while before I make my decision–right now I am just in the name-gathering phase. So , I need your help. Help me make a good list of names by listing 3-5 of your favorite boy names in the comments.

4 boys isn’t all that bad.
Although I’ve seen my older ones taking care of toddlers and MAN! is that cute. I don’t want to do the diaper thing again, but I’d be willing to just to see my 4 react to having a little sister.
I’m more of a traditional namer, so favorites for me are ones like Gabriel, Thomas, Jon, Edward, and Matthew might work.

Don’t know what your list of pros were but I’ll add some. This comes from my friend who just had her fourth girl:
-4 pms attacks
-4 whining girls
-4 weddings
-4 boyfriends

Eli, Lucas, Colin, Samson or Samuel, Max.
Those are what I can come up with right now.
Will be interesting to read what other people come up with.

I have to second Shannon on Colin. That’s a great and not-so-common name. How about Kent (you can go for a reverse Superman thing).

Oh no, you can’t have my good boy names! I also saw one of my sons’ names above. D’oh, it turned out to be more popular than I expected. I will be very surprised if my other son’s name turns up.
Considering who his father is, I propose naming the baby Long Ears. Or maybe change just one letter and make it Monkey. That would fit any boy well.
OK, just one good name, because I don’t think my husband would ever go for it anyway. I’m reading a book with a protagonist named Guilford, and it’s starting to grow on me.

There is nothing better than having four boys(except for when they fight, throw things around the house, jump off of your furniture and break lamps, etc…
). Even with all the craziness of having four boys; I no longer have the slightest desire to have a girl; Hurray for four boys!!! If you name your boy Titus as Phil suggests, then if we have another boy in the future he won’t bother me to name him Titus.

I must suggest IAN.
It’s the coolest name ever. I know this because it’s what I named my son. Apparently the mom’s of both his roommates agreed. They are all named: Ian. All three of them (there’s a fourth one around – but they don’t roll with him)
William is good too (that’s his middle name)
Best wishes for a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery!

Jacob — Jake for short.
Isaac — Ike for short. With a name like Ike, your kid is destined to be a bruiser.
Eli Garth (just humor me. I kind of like it. We’ll never be able to use it because our kid’s initial’s would be E.G.G. and we can’t have that.)

Mark. It has a good ring and a strong sound. Also, it is biblical like your others.

I only have one son but he has three names besides a surname. Here they are:
Korban (Corbin) – To give unto God
Gabriel – God’s hero
Joseph – God will increase
There you go names AND meaning becuase the meaning was the biggest thing for me, then the sound, and lastly uniqueness/will get teased with such a freakish name! I spelled his name Korban because it is from the movie The Fifth Element and that is how the char spelled it, but the version in the bible is the traditional spelling. I liked the named but checked out the meaning first and if it would have meant something like “born on a tuesday” that I could never determine BEFORE he was born I would have picked something else. I liked being able to call him by his name before he was born and haveing others call him by name. I’m just happy you finally get to pick!

As mother of 5 boys, it’s the only way to go!! We love them all, as incredibly different as they all are. There were times when I didn’t know if I’d survive. All of our boys’ names end w/ the letter n. Not intentional, but that’s how it ended up. Starting w/Aaron, ending w/Evan.
Regards and best of luck to you on your houseful of boys!
