Get a good book on tape or cd at your library for the long road trips. Make sure it is at least something you both would like. When the chit chat becomes uncomfortable, switch on the player with the book in it and say, “I am dying to find out what happens next!” A good unabridged novel will run you 8-10 hours of listening joy.

you should make an audio recording of yourself reading your list and other such responses that way when the interrogation starts just pop in the recording

The real travesty here is that someone is reading a book during a baseball game. The Constitution explicitly states that the only reading that is allowed during a baseball game either involves the scoreboard or the program. Any other reading results in immediate revocation of your U.S. citizenship and being shipped off to Cuba with the rest of the Communists. What’s next? Renouncing apple pie?

Books are useful. I agree. My wife is a bit of a bibliophile herself – but we usually spend a lot of time talking on road trips.

Okay, can someone give me some background information on the age of the guy writing this? I looked on the About page and saw they’ve been married for 8 years, but not the age? I’m guessing late 20’s?

I want to say in reading this I am thankful for my husband lol. We actually have a blast when “trapped” in the car together. We play goofy games and sing road trip songs. Most of our best memories involve road trips.
We do book swaps, where I’ll read a book and then he will and we talk about it.

My husband isn’t a saint by far, but compared to this guy you wouldn’t know it lol.

Sorry Donkey, I’m new to the site so maybe just these latest ones give the wrong impression of you and I’m off on my thinking and you really aren’t such a putz.
