Quick Tip: Your Wife’s Pregnancy Can Keep You From In-Law Vacations

Avoiding In-Law Vacations Quick Tips

This month is Avoiding the In-law Vacations Month. The Donkey provides quick tips for avoiding any and all minor and major vacations with your in-laws.

Knocked Up

The final tip in this series is a bit risky, takes careful planning, and involves some dirty work: get your wife pregnant! Is it really worth it to add an extra branch to the family tree just to get out of an in-law vacation? Maybe. If you have to fly to your next in-law vacation, plan to get your wife pregnant roughly 8 months before the trip. If successful, your wife will be advised by her doctor not to fly, and the trip can be avoided because she certainly won’t want to make the drive while she is pregnant.

But don’t make my recent mistake. I miscalculated by a month or two and now have to attend the vacation while my wife is pregnant. It couldn’t be worse. Instead of hiding in my room watching sports, I will be forced to watch our 3 children while my wife relaxes to alleviate the “side effects” of pregnancy. Additionally, I will have to cover her shift as cook and cleaner for one of the dinner meals. Talk about a plan gone wrong!

  2. Too bad, so sad. I think that is sooo funny that she gets to enjoy herself (as much as you can while being pregnant) and you’ll be busy with the kids and such!

  4. Vacation is merely a part of enjoyment and entertainment. But it doesn’t mean that our personal things should be ignored. I think you should strictly take care of your children and your wife.

  5. Doesnt the wife getting knocked-up make it where you MUST go to see the inlaws after the birth, becasue they other choice is they come to you and then you never know when they are leaving.

  6. I would just flat out refuse to go on the “vacation.” It’s stupid to do things you hate. Life is too short for this crap. Stop being a wussy and grow some balls. Too many American men have become disgusting wussies. Take control of your life and do what you want to do.
