Happy Valentine’s Day!
If you’re like us, you might not actually be going out to celebrate Valentine’s Day. It might be because you like to avoid crowded restaurants. Or–again, if you’re like us–you may have just forgotten that it helps to line up a babysitter more than 12 hours in advance. Nothing else to do? Pop some popcorn, and pop in a DVD. But first you have to agree on what to watch…

Chick Flick: “Ladyhawke”
It’s a beautiful and poignant love story, but there’s some good action for the guys too.
Another good one is: “Still Breathing” w/ Brendan Fraser
It’s a good, clean love story where the guy turns down the girl’s advances for a change.
Guy movie: “Lord of the Ring Trilogy” Any or all of the 3 will do. Enough said?
Worst Date movie: “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape”
I saw that movie on a date in high school, and to this day, I think it’s the worst film I have ever seen. It started off bad, then got worse, then the fat lady died. The end. I will have to say that Di Caprio’s performance as a down syndrome boy was amazing. That was the first movie I saw Di Caprio in, and I wasn’t sure if he was acting or not.
PS I rented “Becoming Jane” the 2 days ago for the wife. It wasn’t very good. I hate to say it, but any of the Jane Austen-adapted movies are better.

I absolutely love “Always”. It is one of my all time favorites. A close second would be “The Notebook”…..
Best Guy Movie could be the “Bourne” series…although I love them as well.
Not too sure about the worst date category….
I think at one time I saw a heavy metal cartoon in college many years ago and it was horrible…
