I think a sign of a good secretary is a willingness to go out and buy something nice from you for your wife.

It is hard to have your spouse be your business partner because what happens when you need to fire him/her? you might have a lawsuit. I guess if you get sued you will see the money in the end. maybe it is a good idea?

I actually do all those things for my husband. I have all the courses mapped out in the order he needs to take them, I sign him up for classes, meet with his advisor if there's a problem or questions. I buy his books and supplies. Then, the night before classes start I organize his binder, put granola bars, pencils, pens, highlighters, and the jump drive and calculator in his backpack, along with a color-coded schedule that tells when and where his classes are and who the instructor is. Also, inside his binder are all the syllabi from the classes he'll be taking, and a sheet with all the instructors' office hours, email, and phone numbers. I also pencil in all the assignments for the first month in his assignment book. Then, every night after school I restock his backpack with snacks, check his assignment book to make sure he's got everything done and remind him of what's coming up in the next couple days. I don't know WHAT he'd do without me!

But seriously, I'm happy to do this for him because his genius brain doesn't need such mundane things to occupy his time. Plus, he's a great lover and he is very creative in how he shows his appreciation :-P

Yeah, I would be the one fired if I had that one with my wife. Of course our classic interchange went something like:

Wife: You're a peach.

Me: You're a plum.

Wife: You're a doll.

Me: [obviously without thinking] You're a house.

I still haven't lived down "you're a house."
