This is Exercise Verification Month. The Donkey provides tips on how you can verify that your wife is exercising to her fullest potential.

The Sneak A Peek Method

You can find out how hard your wife is working out by the number of breaks she is taking. Obviously you can’t sit there for the entire hour while she is in her aerobics class, so you have to sample her exercise habits through a few drive-by checks.

Things look business as usual here:

But take a closer look: I am just checking in to see how my wife’s workout is going.

Fortunately, at my gym the water fountain is very close to the group fitness room where my wife takes classes. Casually get a drink and be sure to check to see if your wife is taking a break.

I try to check in about 6 times an hour. If I catch her taking a break 2 out of the 6 times, then I can assume that 1/3 of the workout was wasted.

  6. Good point. You should be careful to make sure that other husbands don’t think you are spying on their wives. Just be stealthy

  10. You are like a nazi drill sargeant.

    Be glad your wife even goes to the gym and makes an effort to keep in shape and look good. Many women don’t. Somedays it’s hard, you have multiple things to do, pain from menses, bloated, and feel like that extra 1-5 lbs of water weight is 50 and doin’t want to be seen at the gym bc you gained water weight.

    I think you should be more appreciative.

    I agree, one should maximize their effort at the gym, and be efficient. But even so, many gym exercises can be efficiently done at home, push ups, are a great workout for amny body parts and do increase muscle mass.

    Why don’t you ust attend the aerobics class if it’s such a big deal.

    Areyou not see results as in she is gaining or not maintaining her weight? t could be eating patterns as well.

    Be a litle more kind and not untrusting and paranoid. It will be positive for your marriage.
