In Laws
Marriage is a great institution, but I’m not ready for an institution.
~ Mae West
When The Donkey first started writing his Wife Lessons, a lot of people wondered about how my family members felt about my husband. “Doesn’t it make them mad to hear him talking about you like that?” Apparently not.Take tonight for instance. Right now, my husband is sitting in bed, reading from The Book of Classic Insults, edited by Tom Steele, which includes a section with some pretty funny (and also obnoxious) marriage quotes. This book was a gift to The Donkey from his mother-in-law!
I ask you, what is worse? Having a donkey publish your weight on the internet, or having your own mother supplying that donkey with fresh material?

Did you hear the one about the woman that married a television antenna? The wedding was rubbish but the reception was great!

She should have said, “Marriage is a great institution, but I am not ready to get committed.” Dual meaning there
