Quick Tip: Money Back Guarantee

Money Skimming Quick Tips

It’s Money Skimming Month. The Donkey shares his secrets for surviving, even thriving, despite the meager allowance approved by The Wife.

The Return And Reward Yourself Method

I love book buyback because it is always seems like free money. Plus, no one really knows how much you got back. You can take this a step further and apply it to other purchases you make on things like clothes or groceries. Next time you are at the store, throw a pair of socks into the cart. Go to the store a few days later and return the socks. You now have a little more to spend on your wants. Note: you must make the original purchase in cash or you will be refunded back onto your card. This is a rookie mistake, so be warned.

  2. this is truly brilliant. this also brings up a topic perhaps you could address in the future. my wife likes to shop, and she ends up buying way too much. she inevitably comes to her senses and realizes she over bought and returns. she then will spend the refunded money on the next shopping trip. when i ask how much she spent, she deducts the refunded money as if it was a gift certificate, and tells me the total spent. how do i stop the madness.

  3. How do you encourage the merchant to give you the cash? The last several times I have returned items, the merchant has insisted on refunding on the credit card.

  4. You must initially pay with cash to get cash back. Paying with a card and expecting cash is a flawed assumption. Don’t make that rookie mistake.
